About this Project
|
Almost Home: A Beautification Project Benefiting Broadlawns Medical Center’s Mental Health Services Organized by the Greater Des Moines Leadership Institute.
The goal of the Almost Home project is twofold: First to raise awareness of the need for affordable, quality, local options for recovery from addiction, anxiety disorders, and other serious issues of mental health. Such services allow patients to reach a state of wellness that allows them to return home and resume their lives. Second, the project aims to make the treatment setting they experience feel more like home, to inspire them in the course of their therapy.
The scope of the work will include, but may not be limited to, artwork, paint, lighting, flooring, furniture, decorating and improved way-finding for patients who use out-patient services. The project will also include an outdoor component, improving the appeal and functionality of an adjacent garden and patio area used by patients, families and visitors.
